    Economy News - Baghdad
[rtl]Vice Chairman of the Finance Committee, Ahmed Mazhar Al-Jubouri, confirmed that the decision to raise gasoline prices will not pass in the House of Representatives.[/rtl]
[rtl]Al-Jubouri said in a televised interview followed by Al-Iqtisad News, “The financial situation in Iraq is not good, and the government is trying to support the state treasury through import taxes on gasoline and other things.”[/rtl]
[rtl]Al-Jubouri added, “Oil distribution companies import improved and premium gasoline from abroad, which costs them financial losses, and therefore they resorted to compensating for those losses by raising the price of gasoline.”[/rtl]
[rtl]He pointed out, “The government justifies that the revenues from the increase in gasoline prices will go to the state treasury and not to companies, noting that the Finance Committee will delete the price increase paragraph from the budget tables.”[/rtl]
