[size=45]The Ministry of Oil confirmed, on Friday, that the use of electronic cards at gas stations is proceeding smoothly, while denying that additional amounts are being deducted from citizens.[/size]
[size=45]Director of Petroleum Products at the Ministry of Oil, Hussein Talib, said, “Talk about the delay in the operation of the electronic card devices at gas stations is inaccurate,” pointing out that “the use of the electronic card at gas stations is proceeding very smoothly.”[/size]
[size=45]Talib stressed that “there are no additional amounts borne by citizens when using the electronic card at gas stations.”[/size]
[size=45]Earlier, the Ministry of Oil announced the practical launch of the electronic payment service at gas stations in Baghdad.[/size]
[size=45]The Ministry stated in a statement that, “In implementation of the government’s direction towards adopting the electronic payment service in financial transactions, and in implementation of the directives of the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and the Minister of Oil, Hayan Abdul Ghani, the Undersecretary for Distribution Affairs announced the launch of the electronic payment service in a number of fuel filling stations next to Al-Karkh and Al-Rusafa.” [/size]
