Al-Hasnawi said, in an interview during his stay at the Al-Rafidain Center for Dialogue, according to a statement from his media office received by Al-Iqtisad News, that “the health insurance law needs 8 to 10 years to cover all Iraqis,” pointing out that “health strategic projects are long-term and need to be implemented.” Time to implement and implement it.
He added, "Nineveh Governorate has the highest rate of cancer cases, not Basra Governorate as is rumored," adding: "In Basra Governorate, we have an advanced cancer center and we opened another inside the new Al-Sayyab Hospital with the latest medical equipment."
He pointed out that "the waiting list for treatment at the oncology center in Basra Governorate does not exceed one day," stressing that "another oncology center will be established in the Izz al-Din Salim district of Basra Governorate."
He continued: “We opened a new center for oncology treatment in Salah al-Din Governorate during the last period with the latest medical equipment, and we completed the procedures to establish 4 advanced oncology treatment centers in 4 governorates where there are no oncology centers,” adding that “a reference hospital for oncology will be established in Baghdad, and the procedures have been completed.” Special for laying the foundation stone and transferring the project.
He pointed out that "the drug user is a patient, not a criminal, and needs health care," stressing that "addicts can be treated in any specialized consultation in hospitals and private clinics, while addicts need to be admitted to rehabilitation centers."
He added: “Addicts are currently being treated at Ibn Rushd Hospital in Baghdad and the Canal Center with a capacity of 150 beds, which is being expanded to a capacity of 300 beds.” He continued: “We are working to establish 5 new addiction treatment centers, one for every 3 governorates.”
He stated that "more than 97% of the medicines on the national basic list are available in government hospitals, and we have 39,000 doctors in the Ministry of Health institutions, with a doctor for every 1,100 citizens," adding: "We have a drug tracking project in the private sector after we established campaigns to follow up on smuggled medicines." .
He continued: “Work is underway to subject all private sector medicines to the drug tracking project, and the project includes placing a sticker on each drug to ensure that it is subject to examination and determines the price,” stressing, “providing facilities to national pharmaceutical factories that no country in the world has provided.”
He concluded by saying: "We have a need for the specializations of anesthesia, nursing, and medical device technicians to cover the new health institutions that will be opened, while we have a surplus of dentists, laboratory workers, and biologists, compared to a shortage of personnel in the legal and administrative specializations, accountants, and engineers."
He explained that "according to what was approved by the World Health Organization, there is a national list of medicines that the Ministry of Health is responsible for providing in every country in the world, and a comprehensive list of medicines that the Ministry of Health gives approvals to provide in the private sector," stressing that "the Iraqi Ministry of Health has provided the vast majority of the medicines on the national list." ".
