Today, Saturday (April 13, 2024), an informed source revealed the date of the federal government’s disbursement of funds allocated for salary increases for Kurdistan Region employees .
The source, who preferred to remain anonymous, said in an interview with “Baghdad Today” that “the Ministry of Finance in the regional government has sent lists of teaching staff since last month,” indicating that “the federal government is in the process of studying them and releasing the amounts with salaries . ”
He added, "The amounts of the promotions exceed 100 billion dinars, and therefore the promotions are likely to be launched with the salaries of next May."
On (March 26, 2024), former member of the Kurdistan Regional Parliament, Jihad Hassan, confirmed that the budget for salaries of Kurdistan employees with the Peshmerga, retirees, and social care amounts to about 930 billion dinars .
Hassan told "Baghdad Today" that "with the demands of educational cadres to approve the law on promotions and bonuses, the value of salaries will exceed one trillion dinars. Only salaries are paid every month in the Kurdistan region . "
He added, "The Kurdistan region does not have any financial revenues except 320 billion dinars or less in revenues from border crossings, as a result of the cessation of oil exports . "
Sources in the Kurdistan Regional Government estimate 1,251,000 salary recipients, including 751,805 civilian and military employees, and the Kurdistan Government says it needs more than 940 billion dinars per month to cover salaries.
