    Parliament’s steps are accelerating to implement new laws concerned with public health to modernize medical services in the country, after it passed the proposal for the First Amendment Law to the Law Regulating Human Organ Transplantation No. (11) of 2016, as the Health Committee pledged to legislate the Human Organ and Tissue Bank Law.

    Shankali added that “the committee is heading to legislate a law called the ‘Human Organs and Tissue Bank’, which concerns people who recommend donating their organs after their death,” noting that “the most important thing in the coming period is to legislate this law.” He said: “In In Iran, for example, 54 percent of organ transplants are carried out on deceased people, while 46 percent of their transplants depend on living donors.

    The representative stated, “The Health Committee is also seeking to submit a proposal to legislate the medical liability law, without it containing a financial aspect,” indicating that it is “a law that differentiates between medical complications and medical errors that occur to some patients, and it will also protect doctors.”
