Member of the Parliamentary Legal Committee, Ahmed Fawaz Al-Watifi, spoke today, Wednesday, about the laws that need political consensus before being passed by the House of Representatives.
Al-Watifi told Al-Maalouma, “There are many important and controversial laws and legislation that require political consensus in order to be passed within Parliament, such as the laws of oil and gas, the federal court, slums, peace, salaries, and amnesty.”
He added, "These laws were unable to be approved by the House of Representatives in previous sessions as a result of disagreements between the political blocs."
He pointed out that "there is movement during the current parliamentary session to legislate a number of regular and important laws, pointing out that his committee continues to mature draft laws that the government and citizens need." Ended / 25 h
