The representative of the framework, Adnan Al-Jabri, confirmed the impossibility of the sacked Speaker of the House of Representatives, Muhammad Rikan Al-Halbousi, returning to the position of Speaker of Parliament.
Al-Jabri told Mawazine News, “Nomination to the position of presidency of the House of Representatives must be made by a representative within the dome of Parliament, and no other person outside the Council members has the right to be nominated for the position, whether she is the head of a bloc or a representative from previous sessions.”
He added, "Everything that is rumored that there is a legal door or a legal loophole that allows Al-Halbousi to return to the position of Speaker of Parliament is a lie and a manipulation of the feelings of the Iraqi street, indicating that Al-Halbousi is currently considered outside the framework of the House of Representatives."
He pointed out that "Iraqi law stipulates that the position of presidency of the House of Representatives, the positions of committee heads, and the first and second vice president shall be exclusively from within the parliament, stressing that what is rumored about Al-Halbousi's return to his position is a lie."
