    Next May, the Ministry of Transport will open the first commercial exchange square within the Hawalli-Baghdad project, which is included in the government plans prepared to relieve traffic congestion in Baghdad in addition to preserving its internal roads.
    Director of the Ministry’s Media Office, Maytham Al-Safi, said in an interview with Al-Sabah, followed by Al-Eqtisad News, that these squares will preserve the infrastructure of the capital and will also reduce traffic congestion and preserve the environment from car exhausts, pointing out that the completion rates of the commercial exchange square project at the entrance ( Baghdad - Yusufiyah) with an area of ​​400 dunums, exceeding 80 percent, and it is hoped to be opened during the next month.  
    Promise of commercial exchange squares is one of the projects that were included in the government program because it constitutes an important part of the government program projects to relieve traffic congestion, in addition to providing financial abundance to supply the state treasury, indicating that the ministry is working to coordinate with all concerned parties to make these projects successful and ensure Achieving economic feasibility.
    Al-Safi stated that the project will prevent large trucks from entering the capital, Baghdad, as their loads will be converted into small trucks with a capacity of five tons, preserving the roads and solving the problems of traffic congestion in Baghdad, noting that there is follow-up on the rest of the square projects at the entrances to (Baghdad - Kut) and (Baghdad - Diyala) and (Baghdad - Salah al-Din), and working to complete them according to the specified timelines.
