    Advisor to the Prime Minister, Fadi Al-Shammari, revealed that the cost of the development road is 17 billion dollars and will provide more than 100,000 job opportunities, suggesting that its basic stages will open during the next five years, while he stressed that the Iraqi-Turkish agreement on... Water has comprehensive solutions.
    Al-Shammari said in an interview with “Al-Zawraa”: The development road project is a purely Iraqi idea and the participation of the countries of the region’s basin, and invitations were sent to all neighboring and Gulf countries to participate in the development road as an international crossing linking the East with the West. Pointing out that the cost of the project is 17 billion dollars, and it is expected that the basic stages of it will be opened within 5 years.
    He added: The development road is designed to build a “new Iraq” in western Iraq from Basra all the way to Nineveh, including industrial cities and city outskirts on both sides of the road. Pointing out: Turkey has begun building a railway network on the Iraqi-Turkish border to link with the Iraqi railway network within the path of development.
    He pointed out that the project will provide more than 100,000 job opportunities and more. Stressing that the agreements between Iraq and Turkey were the result of great work carried out by the government, and these agreements had not been signed with Turkey in this way for decades.
    He stated: The Turkish side participated with us in creating a common vision to solve the water crisis and we came up with a road map to address it. Noting: The Iraqi-Turkish agreement on water includes comprehensive solutions and the duration of the agreement is 10 years, subject to renewal.
    He continued: Previously, we had a problem in employing energies and expertise, which exacerbated many internal problems. Explaining that Türkiye, in its agreement with the Labor Party in previous years, deported them to northern Iraq without obtaining Baghdad’s approval.
    He pointed out: The Iraqi-Turkish security agreement established a comprehensive cooperation map between the two sides, and this will reflect positively on addressing the security situation and confronting the terrorist organization ISIS.
    He pointed out: There is a new phase of the comprehensive relationship between Baghdad and Ankara with mature practical paths, political, economic, investment and productive security, as well as radical and realistic solutions to the water issue. Stressing that there is a historical relationship between Iraq and Turkey, where the roots of communication and cooperation between the two countries extend throughout the ages, with deep ties that bring together the Iraqi and Turkish peoples, built on common cultural and historical foundations.
    He pointed out that the agreement between Baghdad and Ankara is historic, occurring for the first time in decades, indicating that Iraq and Turkey share a vision of a common future, with a focus on enhancing stability and development in the region.
    Al-Shammari explained: The development path is the dream project for Iraq, and today witnessed the launch of the stages of realizing this dream through signing and pressing the start button for the project. Emphasizing: Turkey is considered the primary partner on the path to development, and this partnership will expand greatly between Baghdad and Ankara, and from the gateway to the development path we went to resolve many overlapping files.[/size]
