    The Ministry of Water Resources announced on Thursday that it will hold meetings with the Turkish and Syrian sides regarding Iraq’s water share.
    The director of the General Authority for Dams and Reserves in the Ministry, Mahdi Rashid Mahdi, said, "It is planned that there will be a meeting with the Syrian side during the upcoming period."
    He added, "There will also be a meeting of the (Iraqi-Turkish) committee in order to negotiate clear mechanisms in order to communicate an agreement that guarantees Iraq's water share."
    And he added that "the procedures for organizing water releases are continuing in the Euphrates River," noting that "
    Mahdi continued: "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs was also addressed to coordinate on this with the Turkish side, especially after the occurrence of earthquakes in Turkey as a result of the proximity of its centers to some large dams in Turkey to coordinate with it and announce the position of the dams."     The (Iraqi - Turkish) Joint Committee will hold a meeting, within the next few days, to discuss the mechanisms for reaching an agreement that guarantees Iraq 's water share.

    Director of the General Authority for Dams and Reservoirs at the Ministry of Water Resources Mahdi Rashid Mahdi said in a press statement: "It is planned that there will be a meeting with the Syrian side during the coming period, according to which mechanisms for operating dams built on the Euphrates River will be agreed upon."
