{Umniah: Al-Furat News} The head of the Supreme Security Committee to secure the Arba’een visit, the Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir al-Shammari, today, Sunday, chaired an expanded meeting to discuss preparations for the Arba’een visit, while the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces agreed to add a new sea port from the city of Muhammarah to the port of Abu Flus in Basra Governorate, in order to be an outlet for visitors coming through territorial waters.
The media office of the Minister of the Interior stated in a statement received by {Al-Furat News} that “the latter chaired an expanded meeting at the Ministry’s headquarters, in the presence of the Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, members of the Service and Security Committee, and a number of field commanders, to discuss the ongoing preparations to secure the upcoming Arba’een visit of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him,” stressing “This visit is of great importance, as it brings together two million people, especially since participation in it is from inside and outside the country. It is considered one of the most important visits in the Islamic world, and it is widely followed.”
The Minister stated that "the number of arrivals from outside Iraq last year amounted to approximately five million visitors, and we expect this number to increase. This matter requires more preparations and preparation from now for the success of this eternal anniversary, and work to secure all security and service requirements and land ports."
He stressed, "One of the most prominent problems that occur during this visit are traffic accidents, and a solid plan must be developed, directing the Director of Public Traffic to develop the necessary solutions in this regard and secure the roads leading to the holy city of Karbala and the rest of the other holy cities."
He stated, “The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces agreed to add a new sea port from the city of Muhammarah to the port of Abu Flus in Basra Governorate, so that it will be an outlet for visitors coming through territorial waters.”
Al-Shammari stressed "the importance of intensifying efforts and providing the best services to all visitors in a way that suits them by developing a joint action plan, especially since the country will receive visitors from all ports of entry, and therefore all capabilities must be harnessed for this blessed visit.
