The spokesman for the regional presidency, Dilshad Shihab, said during a press conference held in Erbil and followed by Alsumaria News, that “the region’s presidency has set the date for the elections for the parliament of the Iraqi Kurdistan region, which falls on 10/20/2024.”
Shehab added, "Determining this day was based on the powers granted to the president of the region," indicating that "all parties will be bound by this date."
Shehab confirmed that "there are no points of disagreement regarding holding parliamentary elections in Kurdistan," noting that "discussions and dialogue took place before deciding on the date of the elections."
