Today, Friday, the Ministry of Transport determined the routes and models of vehicles allowed to enter Baghdad Airport.
Director General of Airports Abbas Al-Baydani said, according to a statement by the Ministry of Transport received by (Mawazine News): "Based on the directives of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, the Supreme Committee for Airport Security held a meeting during which it was agreed to set tomorrow, Saturday, at eight in the morning, as the final date for the full opening of Baghdad International Airport to the movement of passengers and citizens." He stressed that "the General Company for Airports Management and Air Navigation has fulfilled all the technical points and divided the airport's entry corridors into (6) corridors (for those receiving, departing, for employees, for vehicles, and contracted taxi companies, in addition to the corridor for badge and call holders)." The statement added that "the entry procedures will be in a systematic manner that allows travelers and citizens to enter Baghdad International Airport for the purpose of receiving and farewell without requesting a document and will be with high fluidity, and within studied procedures."
He pointed out that "cargo vehicles, motorcycles, three-wheeled vehicles, and taxi wheels that are not model 2023, as well as wheels that do not meet safety and security requirements, are not included in the decision to open the airport to citizens."
