The Ministry of Transport announced today, Tuesday, an upcoming meeting of the countries of the Quadripartite Memorandum on the development road, while it set a date for the completion of the design stages of the project.
The ministry’s spokesman, Maitham Al-Safi, told the official agency, “On the 31st of this month, a ministerial meeting of the Ministerial Quartet Committee will be held regarding the strategic project, the Development Road. The meeting will include the Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhaibis Al-Saadawi, and his counterparts in Turkey, Qatar, and the Emirates. The meeting will discuss the development road and the latest developments in the project.”
Al-Safi pointed out that “the project is still in the design phase that has reached its final stages, as the completion of the railway line has reached 100%, after conducting the topographic survey and soil investigation operations. As for the land line, the completion rates have reached 84%, and that this year will witness the completion of the initial basic design stages, then the transition to the detailed or final design stage, after which the project will be presented to companies to compete for opportunities to implement the project according to the Iraqi vision and what serves the interests of the people.” End/25
