    [ltr]The Japanese government granted the World Food Program of the United Nations in Iraq, 0.6 million dollars to provide food assistance for displaced Iraqis and Syrian refugees inside Iraq.[/ltr]
    [ltr]A statement from the United Nations Mission in Iraq, seen by / balances News /, "The Japanese contribution came at the right time, the conflict in Iraq is still pushing people to flee their homes as the number of displaced people exceeded internally three million people across the country, and worsen the situation and there are approximately 250 thousand Syrian refugees have fled to the Kurdistan region.     [ltr]He said, "Japan has always been a devout donors support WFP's operations to fight hunger in Iraq," adding: "We thank the Japanese government and people for their continuous support in order to alleviate the suffering of Iraqi refugees and displaced Syrians in this country."[/ltr]
    [ltr]The statement pointed out, that "that contribution will enable the program to support nearly 500 thousand of internally displaced Iraqis and 35 thousand Syrian refugees over the next nine months," noting that "the displaced Iraqi families will receive food parcels contain basic foodstuffs such as wheat, pulses, sugar, salt, flour and vegetable oil, while Syrian refugees who have access to the local Iraqi markets electronic food vouchers a month will receive. "[/ltr]
