Independent Electoral Commission said, that is not enough time for an amendment to the provincial elections law.
The vice president of the Board of Commissioners Kata Zubai, told all of Iraq [where] that "the Electoral Commission, does not have enough time to make any amendment to the provincial elections law and is going according to previously existing law."
He added, "The Commission cut more than 40% of the timetable for the provincial councils and did not have enough time to make the amendment," noting that "if there is a modification shall be on the forthcoming elections."
Several political parties recently called for the integration of provincial councils with the House of Representatives election to reduce financial expenses and reconsider the electoral law and make the necessary adjustments upon with reducing the number of members of the provincial councils.
She Electoral Commission, on Thursday, its willingness to integrate the provincial councils and the upcoming parliamentary elections at the same time, "noting that" any electoral event requires 180 days to get ready for him by the Electoral Commission. "
It is scheduled to hold provincial elections on 04/30/2017.
