For its part, Egypt announced the severance of diplomatic relations with Qatar because of the "hostile attitude to Egypt" by Doha and supporting "terrorist organizations" and especially the Muslim Brotherhood, and shortly after similar announcements issued by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Cairo "has decided to sever diplomatic relations with the State of Qatar under the insistence of the Qatari referee to take a course hostile to Egypt", and the closure of its borders "air and sea in front of all the means of national transport."

Parallel to the leadership of the Alliance of the Saudi aggression against Yemen, ending Qatar's participation in the aggression against Yemen declared because of "practices that promote terrorism", and so far Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Egypt announced the severance of diplomatic relations with Doha.
