MOSCOW, June 22 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian foreign ministry on Thursday expressed high confidence that Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was killed in the latest Russian statement on the fate of a militant leader who is urging the militant.
The news agency quoted the Russian Foreign Ministry as saying that there is a high degree of confidence that al-Baghdadi was killed in a raid targeting the leaders of the organization about a month ago.
Significantly, this statement comes just a day after Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov said that "Moscow can not confirm the killing of a leader of an advocacy organization."
About a week ago, the Russian defense ministry said it believed the death of a leader in an air raid that targeted a group of militant group leaders south of Raqqa in late May.
The international coalition responded against a Washington-led lobbyist by announcing that Russian reports on the killing of al-Baghdadi could not be confirmed. Finished
