Oil launches nine border exploration and rehabilitation pits

The Ministry of Oil announced on Wednesday the launch of projects to explore, rehabilitate and develop the production of nine exploratory wells and oil fields.
"The development and rehabilitation process includes the exploratory areas of Khader al-Watam, Jabal Sinam and Umm Qasr, which are located on the Iraqi-Kuwaiti border," Oil Minister Jabbar Ali al-Allaibi said in a statement received by Mawazine News. He added that "foreign oil companies that are not qualified and willing to participate, can provide information and documents related to the technical, financial, legal, health, safety, security and environment of the Department of Contracts."
The minister added that "exploration operations within the framework of the contract will include seismic surveys, drilling of exploration and evaluation wells, programs of survey and clearance of mines and non-flared objects, production of crude oil and optimal utilization of free gas or associated gas, and the provision of finance, expertise, technology, equipment, machinery and services."
