    The Ministry of Oil announced on Saturday the extension of the tender period for international companies eligible for the licensing round for the development of 11 border exploration fields to 25 April, at the request of companies to give more time to study the offers for this round before the submission of bids in The date specified.
    The Ministry of Petroleum Contracts and Licenses had sent to the qualified companies on Friday, the final tender document and the conditions of the tender and a model for two contracts, the first includes the exploration, development and production of exploratory patches, the second model includes the contract of development and production, said ministry spokesman Assem Jihad. Number of eligible companies that bought information bags (14) companies of different nationalities.
    He added that the contracts of this tender are service contracts, some of which have been amended in consultation and dialogue with qualified companies and in order to achieve the common objectives of the parties concerned.
    Jihad pointed out that the Department of Petroleum Contracts and Licenses has set a deadline for the submission of tenders at a public and direct meeting held for this purpose at the Ministry's headquarters with the participation of a number of officials and representatives of the participating international companies, the media and the press.
    The Contracts and Licenses Department had previously set the date of 15 April 2018 as the date for submission of tenders.

    A senior Oil Ministry official said on Thursday that Iraq postponed a round of oil and gas bids for 11 new patches to 25 April.
    Iraq originally planned to award contracts to explore and develop oil and gas for the New Rift Valley located in border areas with Iran and Kuwait and in the waters of the Gulf, on April 15.
    Abdul Mahdi al-Amidi, head of the Licensing and Contracts Office at the Iraqi Oil Ministry, said the postponement was meant only to give companies a little time to prepare and submit bids. According to Reuters
