    {Baghdad} Euphrates News revealed that the Ministry of Planning, and the figures for the number of the population of Iraq's population and are most of the sexes, males and females as well as population growth for the year 2016.
    
He said ministry spokesman Abdul Zahra al - Hindawi said in a statement the agency {Euphrates News} received a copy of it, that " the Central Bureau of Statistics is now working on the preparation of development vision for the future population of Iraq in light of the proportions of the annual increase of the population."
    He said the "team formed for this purpose has held a consultative meeting under the chairmanship of Dr. Zia Awad , head of the Central Bureau of Statistics / Chairman of the Commission on Population and Labor Force to discuss the strategy the main and sub - goals and means to achieve those goals within the years of the five - year plan 2018-2022 and plans that followed."
    He explained Hindawi that "the Commission on Population and Labor Force adopted a hypothetical approach to enter Iraq 's demographic window stage according to modern population data , which indicate a marked decrease in the decline in the proportion of the population in the age group {0-15} year to 37% after it was constituted 41% in 2009 , compared to a rise in the proportion of the population in the age group {15-64} year to 58% in 2016 , which means the possibility of entering Iraq this stage if it is to prepare and plan optimal for it. "
    
Hindawi pointed out that " the population growth in Iraq is still high at the previous rates of 2.5% despite the decline in the growth rate of 2.9% , " noting that " the population estimates show that the population in 2016 reached 37 million and 883 thousand and 543 people, of whom 19 million and 139 thousand and 364 males compared to 18 million and 744 and 179 females, 51% males and 49% for females ".anthy
