The Security and Defense Committee on Friday confirmed that Iraq does not need US ground troops or bases, stressing that the Iraqi territory should not be "launched against other countries."
"The US forces did not have an actual presence during the battles that took place over the previous period against the terrorist organization, and its role was limited to air support and logistical support," Vice-Chairman of the Security and Defense Committee Nayef al-Shammari said in a statement. Provide any victim during the fighting because they are not originally within the lines of the fighting as ground forces. "
Al-Shammari added that "Iraq does not need the presence of US ground forces or the building of bases because we do not want to enter the policy of axes or make our territory a base for the attack on other countries," stressing the need to "stay the US presence air until the completion of our air force in full form and develop in line with the challenges And to protect our airspace "
