    Information / Baghdad
Member of the Parliamentary Services Committee, MP Baqir Al-Saadi, confirmed on Friday that the map of new cities will include eight governorates by 2025.
Al-Saadi told Al-Maalouma Agency, "The housing crisis is highly concentrated in the capital, Baghdad, and several other governorates, which necessitated the launch of a strategy to build new cities."
He pointed out that "this strategy will include at least eight governorates during the coming year, and that proceeding with the establishment of new cities will relieve pressure on the current major cities in terms of population density and services."
He explained that "moving to a new stage through new cities will lead to providing a good range of services, in addition to the road system, and exploiting the large spaces available between the governorates that can be transformed into large population centers."
He stated that the housing crisis has been one of the major and worsening crises in Iraq for years, and has reached its peak, leading to negative consequences within the main cities, including the capital Baghdad in recent years. End 25 F
