Agriculture: 400 thousand acres will be planted wheat and barley in Nineveh province
The Ministry of Agriculture announced that it will plant
400,000 dunums of wheat and barley crops in Ninawa Governorate during the agricultural plan for this year.
"The Ministry of Agriculture decided during the annual plan for this year to grow 400 thousand acres of wheat, barley and vegetables," said the spokesman of the Ministry of Agriculture, Hamid Al-Nayef, "the agricultural areas estimated at 2 million acres depends on wells and rain."
He added that "the agricultural initiative launched by the government in 2008 contributed to the development of the agricultural sector, both in terms of both animal and vegetable."
He pointed out that "the ministry opened its branches of agricultural equipment, which will contribute to the development of the agricultural sector."
The spokesman denied the Ministry of Agriculture, the existence of loans during the current year because of lack of liquidity, especially that there are loans to farmers.
