[ltr][You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - A member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) bloc Ashwaq al-Jaf on Thursday called on donor countries participating in the Iraq reconstruction conference not to provide cash to Iraq but to implement infrastructure projects instead to ensure the return of displaced people as quickly as possible. "Donor countries should grant grants to Iraq in the form of reconstruction projects and infrastructure instead of providing funds because some or most of them will enter the pockets of corrupt people and will not benefit citizens," Jaf said in a publication on her own account of Facebook.
Al-Jaf called for determining the quota of the Kurdistan regions "occupied" from the grants provided at the Kuwait Conference, so as not to be as the money borrowed by Iraq and deprived of those areas.
She added that "the start of donor countries to rebuild vital projects, especially in the areas restored, reflected directly positively on the people of those areas rather than delays in the completion of projects through advances or grants." Finished
