MP Ahmad al-Jubouri revealed on Sunday that the Secretariat of the Council of Ministers issued a circular last month to the Electoral Commission to dismiss 20 general managers and replace them with others and oblige them to pay all the dues they received during the whole year. 

Jubouri said in a press conference attended by Alsumaria News, "The Legal Department in the Secretariat of the Council of Ministers issued a circular last month to the Electoral Commission to isolate 20 general managers and replace them and oblige them to pay all the dues they received during the year.

He added that "this act is contrary to Article 102 of the Constitution, which indicated that the oversight role on human rights bodies and the Electoral Commission by the parliament, the role of the government is the placement of financial allocations only for these bodies." 

Jubouri said, "We called for the presidency of the House of Representatives a clear and clear position to stop this matter because it may cause imbalance in the upcoming elections and affect the progress," calling on Prime Minister Haider Abadi to "stop this action and non-interference in the work of the Electoral Commission."
