An oil expert said that Iraq could be the third largest source of gas in the world, if the good use of this wealth and stopped waste.
"If we start exporting and have money to extract, explore, develop and process gas, Iraq could be the third largest exporter of gas in the world," said oil expert Hamzah al-Jawahri.
Al-Jawahiri said: "Iraq has large quantities of gas, but it is in the ground, and we need to extract and develop, and then processed, and all these things are not available now, we are now importing gas from Iran to operate some stations."
He added: "Iraq is now exporting gas to Kuwait after the agreements in this regard, which is issued from 50 to 200 cubic meters (million cubic feet) per day, can increase to 500 Muqmq, the project funded by Kuwait and the value of gas will pay the cost of the project In Iraq and the debts of Kuwait to Iraq, which amounts to four billion dollars.
