    [rtl]A member of the Finance Committee in the House of Representatives, Hossam al-Aqabi, on Monday, "the reasons for the establishment of taxes in the financial budget for 2018," stressing that "the taxes will increase non-oil imports to Iraq."[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]Al-Aqabi said in a statement that "the government should have established and collected the sales tax through its own law or the amendment of the previous tax law." He said that "the government delayed submitting the new amendments to the law two years ago, The Tax Authority is asking for it through the budget. "[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]He stressed that "the central government sent the federal budget for 2018 and included taxes by 10%," revealing "the House of Representatives and the Finance Committee to reduce this ratio to 5% and vote at the last meeting with the exception of the ration card.[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]"The imposition of the tax on luxury and other materials is necessary at the present time in order to reduce imports from abroad to promote the national product, in addition to that these taxes will increase non-oil revenues of Iraq."[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]The fiscal budget of 2018 included a tax of 200% on imported alcoholic beverages, while a 25% tax was levied on sweets, ice cream, juices and imported milk in support of the national product  . The Parliament abolished the real estate tax ranging from 10% to 12%[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]The House of Representatives had voted during its meeting held on Saturday on all articles of the law of the financial budget for the year 2018, while the budget included the abolition of deductions from salaries of employees and retirees ".[/rtl]
