A source in the Ministry of Oil said in a statement today that "the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, demanded the Office of the Minister of Oil, to take the procedures for the first phase of the project to inject sea water in the manner of investment, and provide them with the expected timing of the implementation of the project, as well as obstacles that impede implementation.
He pointed out that "the project came under the guidance of Prime Minister Haider Abadi, during the emergency presentation presented by the Minister of Oil in the meeting of the Council of Ministers held on 27/2/2018."
The source pointed out that "Oil Minister Jabbar al-Allaibi, directed the South Oil Company, inviting international companies specialized to implement the project, the card (5) million barrels per day."
He pointed out that "the project is one of the important projects, which will put an end to the problem of water shortage in the oil fields, by providing the necessary quantities of water, for the purpose of injecting water in the oil fields."
