Baghdad province announces near completion of the requirements of the suspended railway project

According to a statement of the province of Baghdad, Al Atwani met with the director of French company Alstom, in the presence of a number of members of the provincial council, and the importance of this project as it will achieve a qualitative transfer in the field of urban transport in the capital Baghdad.
The statement added that "the governor discussed with the delegation of the company financing the project to complete the requirements of designs in 2013, and may be completed by the end of 2018."
It was also agreed that the company will work within the new updates and patterns currently used, not as previously agreed, so that the project will be in line with the development and modern technologies.
The governor pointed out that "meetings will be held on the mechanism of payment, and not to exceed the implementation period of five years and the duration of payment after completion of the project by nineteen years."
