    The Supreme Council for Combating Corruption held its seventh session under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi, and the attendance of judges, members and representatives of civil society organizations as an observer member.
    A government statement said the council discussed the files on its agenda, including the recent decision by the lower house of parliament on the abolition of the offices of the public inspectors and the activation of the role of the public prosecutor in principle.
    The statement quoted Abdul Mahdi as saying that "these offices are established under Order 57 of 2004 as one of the regulatory bodies, but have been successful in some outputs and failed in other outputs and perhaps the legal challenges of its work and the controls and lack of clarity of vision of some office work policies contributed to the stalemate of some offices, other reasons, 
    He added that it is useful to give time and opportunity to these offices to work and later to evaluate the work to be a statement of the usefulness of the work of the offices or not within the anti-corruption project based on the standards and technical reports from specialized bodies). For this reason, the Supreme Council for the fight against corruption on its policies and procedures regarding the inspectors and their offices.
     The Council listened to the report submitted by the Integrity Commission on the need to deploy the posts of its employees at all levels, including the ministers concerned, and on the website of the ministry, including the cost of dispatch, the parties that bear it and the intended destinations to send.
    The statement pointed out that the Council reviewed a number of special measures taken in cases of oil smuggling, border crossings and the scrutiny of state properties.
    The statement pointed out that the meeting discussed the issue of drug scourge and the decisive measures to be taken to curb this phenomenon and not to tolerate the parties involved, whether they are traffickers, promoters, users or any other status. He instructed the formation of a team to make recommendations urgently.
    The statement stressed the need to expedite the termination of the file settlement of salaries of state employees and employees of the security services.
    He also called for the completion of the national strategy to combat corruption and the national index of integrity and the involvement of civil society organizations and organizations involved in the fight against corruption, according to the statement.
