    Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman said on Thursday that his country is putting all its resources and expertise to serve Iraq.

    This came during a meeting between Salman and Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi, the accompanying delegation in Riyadh.

    "The development of Iraqi-Saudi relations is an urgent need for us and the region and helps to achieve peace, development and prosperity. Our people, after suffering from wars over half a century and terrorism, are looking forward to the return of normal life to a period of stability, economic well-being and services," a statement issued by the Iraqi government said.     He added that "what we saw during our visit to the Kingdom reflects the seriousness and common desire to develop relations and the signing of agreements and memorandums of understanding is a beginning to open new horizons and meet the interests of the Iraqi and Saudi people."

    For his part, the Crown Prince said: "The Kingdom looks at Iraq with respect, respect, growth and strength. It is essential for us. We are pleased to see Iraq at this level of stability and we hope that it will become stronger and stable and take the place it deserves in its Arab and regional environment."

    He added that "we put all the capabilities and expertise of the Kingdom in the service of Iraq and its people and raise the level of cooperation in all areas, and look together to take advantage of the energies and economic opportunities available to both countries."

    The statement added that "the joint meeting between the two delegations discussed cooperation in the fields of electricity, water desalination, housing, oil and its derivatives, development of the agricultural and commercial sectors, irrigation methods and industries, encouraging investments in tourism, cultural and sporting fields, And the desire to increase the level of cooperation within the work of the Coordinating Council between the two countries. "

    Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi arrived in Riyadh on Wednesday for a two-day visit to Saudi Arabia.

    The delegation included a number of government officials, MPs, governors, advisers, heads of bodies and businessmen, as well as the Iraqi ambassador to Saudi Arabia.
