Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani reassured citizens when he confirmed that the general population and housing census will produce basic data that will be used exclusively in developing development plans.
During his chairmanship of the fifth session of the Supreme Coordination Authority between the governorates not affiliated with a region yesterday, Sunday, Al-Sudani directed the governorates to provide support, cooperation and facilities to the parties concerned with conducting the census, and to facilitate the release of employees assigned to the census, stressing the importance of the population census for comprehensive development and economic development.
The Prime Minister stressed, according to a statement received by "Al-Sabah", the commitment to the basic principles stated in the statement of the supreme religious authority, especially with regard to combating corruption, confining weapons and preventing interference, stressing that choosing successful tools by local governments will help develop their work. He also touched on Iraq's firm position in standing with the brothers in Palestine and Lebanon, and providing humanitarian support to their peoples.
He also stressed the need to pay attention to implementing the agricultural plan with the approach of the winter agricultural season (2024-2025), and directed the presence of agricultural associations with the concerned authorities in the governorates in all steps, and to prepare a proposed study to provide loans to agricultural associations or investors to establish factories for agricultural products. He also pointed to the recurrence of traffic accidents near schools, and the importance of studying and avoiding them in cooperation with the Traffic Directorate. He also directed the Ministry of Construction and Housing to complete the weighing stations on external roads, and activate their work, especially with the continuation of road completion and maintenance projects. In sports, Al-Sudani stressed the need for coordination between the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Interior and the governorates, to avoid cases of manipulation in the sale of tickets, and to set controls regarding electronic tickets.
