    Economy News - Baghdad
MP Mustafa Jabbar Sand announced on Sunday that he was able to stop a $500 million loan to Kar Oil Company.

Sand said in a post on Facebook, followed by Al-Eqtisad News, that "exactly two months ago, with a simple touch and careful monitoring, we stopped the disbursement of half a billion dollars that was about to be spent in dark rooms."

A document attached by Sand to his post, signed by him and addressed to the Second Karkh Investigation Court, stated that "we would like to inform you that the Prime Minister has issued a directive to SOMO to supply Kar Company with 300,000 tons of black oil starting from 10/1/2024 for a (fictitious) electricity supply that Kar claimed it had supplied to Salah al-Din Governorate when ISIS entered the governorate, hoping to conduct a proper investigation into the above."
