    Minister of Trade Athir Al-Ghariri announced today, Monday, the issuance of the commodity structure for exports and imports for the first time in Iraq, while indicating that the first meeting of the Iraqi Economic Trade Committee will be held next month.
    Al-Ghariri said in a speech during the Iraqi-Turkish forum, "The meeting between Iraqi and Turkish businessmen and investors represents a real opportunity to strengthen trade relations between the two countries and reflects the depth of the historical and geographical ties that unite us and are built on mutual understanding and interests," indicating that "Iraq and Turkey are strategic partners in many fields."
    He stressed the "necessity of enhancing cooperation and integration, as the volume of trade exchange between Iraq and Turkey has reached record levels, as recent years have witnessed a remarkable growth in the volume of exports and imports between the two countries, which reflects the depth and strength of economic relations between the two countries," noting that "the Ministry of Trade has issued for the first time the commodity structure of exports and imports, which provides an integrated database on the volume of trade exchange between Iraq and all countries."
    He stressed that "this initiative constitutes a valuable tool for analysis and study of trade exchanges and helps in directing investment and projects that meet the needs of the market and the national economy," noting that "the Development Road Project is one of the most prominent strategic projects launched by Iraq with the aim of linking the region with an advanced infrastructure that meets future aspirations."
    He stated that "the participation of the Turkish side in the development road project is not only an addition to the Iraqi economy, but also a step towards achieving a common vision for the development of both countries and the region as a whole," noting that "the first meeting of the Iraqi Economic Trade Committee will be held next month, which is an important step towards establishing an institutional framework that enhances cooperation in various sectors."
    He stressed that "this committee will provide a platform for dialogue and continuous coordination and will help address challenges and advance trade cooperation between the two countries, paving the way for successful projects that benefit businessmen and investors in both countries," expressing his hope "to look forward to fruitful cooperation that will benefit the Iraqi and Turkish peoples."
    He stressed the "importance of working as a team to achieve a fruitful future," noting that "the current government is a government of services, and indeed its slogan was credible on the ground that there is a reconstruction revolution and economic reform at the level of the legislation that was approved and went to parliament for approval to open a new phase and the transition from a socialist system with old laws to a market economy system, and at the level of reconstruction, building and cooperation with international companies, so the Iraqi market has become a large area for competition."
