TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran's oil minister, Bijen Zengane, said Monday that members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) should unite, adding that Tehran supports cooperation with non-OPEC oil exporters.
"Without unity among Opec members, planning for cooperation between OPEC countries and non-member states will be futile," Zenghan told the Iranian Oil Ministry news website before leaving Tehran for the OPEC meeting in Vienna.
Iran supports cooperation with non-Opec members, but as long as some OPEC members are hostile to other members, such as Iran , the understandings with non-Opec members will be futile and there is no chance of cooperation."
Tehran has in the past objected to policies put forward by Saudi Arabia, its arch-rival, saying Riyadh was very close to the United States
