The Iranian cabinet has approved a regulation granting a five-year residency for foreigners to stimulate investment and attract foreign funding.
This came at a meeting of the Council of Ministers headed by President Hassan Rowhani on Sunday evening, where the regulations were submitted by the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
The regulation set a minimum of 250,000 euros to grant residency permits to foreign investors for a period of five years.
The regulation requires the investment in the US dollar and other currencies approved by the Central Bank of Iran, as well as bank deposits, securities and real estate, within the framework of the laws in force in Iran.
