(Baghdad: Euphrates News) The Office of the President of the victory coalition, Haider al-Abadi, that the encirclement of the home of its president yesterday is not new, has been preceded by other attempts.
"On the evening of Friday, November 1, suspicious movements of unidentified gunmen lurking around al-Abadi's place of residence were reported," the office said in a statement received by the Euphrates News.
He pointed out that "yesterday's incident was not new, preceded by other attempts," stressing "the presence of Abadi in his home did not leave, and he continues to work to serve national causes, and stop the campaigns of killing and intimidation of peaceful activists and demonstrators."
"Attempts to intimidate and deliver coarse messages will only increase Abadi's insistence on continuing to support and embrace the legitimate demands of the people to reform the political system and radically change the structure of the state to be the state of the people, the law, justice and sovereignty."
A security source revealed on Friday that the home of the head of the victory coalition, Haider al-Abadi, has been surrounded by masked gunmen.
