, MP Alia Nassif, on Saturday, spoke about mafia advisers manipulating the capabilities of the people, asking the supervisory authorities to open an investigation at the highest levels in the fifth licensing round and the previous rounds and the electricity contracts and hold those involved accountable.
Nassif revealed, in a statement received by / Mawazine News / a copy of it, about "a deep mafia to plunder the people's wealth through advisors working for the benefit of external parties that manipulate the capabilities of Iraq, such as the so-called Salim Chalabi, the godfather of oil and electricity contracts, who interferes with malice in all international contracts, and his friend Ghassan Al-Ashqar is the owner of the Canadian phantom company to which the Iraqi-Jordanian oil pipeline contract was referred, knowing that this person is a former director of a company convicted of corruption for providing bribes to officials in Libya and Algeria.
She added, "The mafia advisors had a role in the fifth licensing round and the rounds that preceded it, in addition to energy contracts in Nasiriyah, Kirkuk, etc., and we will show the Iraqi people many examples of thefts and contracts full of corruption."
Nassif stressed, "The need for the Integrity and Prosecution Authority and all oversight bodies to intervene and open an investigation into these cases and announce the results to public opinion." Ended 29 / A 43
