a member of the Finance Committee, Jamal Koujir, on Tuesday, offered solutions to tackle the coming economic crisis in the country.
Cougar said, "Iraq is heading towards an acute economic crisis - not just because of Corona - but because of low oil prices, in addition to chaos and administrative and financial corruption, and therefore we will be facing a difficult financial situation," indicating that "there are no quick solutions on the horizon."
He added, "The only solution to getting out of this crisis is in a strong government that can take control of things, which is difficult at the present time, but the crisis can be mitigated and not solved by stopping the wave of chaotic appointments, which gave authority to even the provinces, in addition to work." To unify salaries and make them with one ladder, and work on the issue of retirement in a serious manner to find alternatives for retirees, in addition to the need to emphasize border crossings and to guard against smuggling oil, especially after its low prices.
Concerning the salaries of the employees, Cougar explained that "the salaries of the employees are insured and will not be approached or affected," noting that "in 2014 prices fell a lot, and the country was in a state of war with ISIS, and the bank reserve fell to its lowest level, and salaries were insured."
He continued that "the economic crisis does not concern salaries, but rather includes the economic equation by providing job opportunities, reducing unemployment and poverty, supporting the private sector and attracting investments, and these are almost non-existent in the coming period."
