Washington welcomes the consensus among Iraqi leaders on forming a government[/rtl]
[rtl]ARBIL (Kurdistan 24) - US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said today, Monday, that the United States welcomes the agreement of Iraqis to form a new government.
Pompeo said his country welcomed an apparently agreement between the Shiite, Sunni and Kurdish powers in Iraq to form a new government, adding that it should be able to tackle the Corona virus, support the economy and control arms.
"We welcome the apparent consensus of Shi'a, Sunni and Kurdish political leaders on forming a government, and we hope that this government will put the interests of Iraq first and meet the needs of the Iraqi people," Pompeo said in a statement.
