Al-Kathemi confirms strengthening measures to protect embassies ... and Washington reveals destabilizing Baghdad's pro-Iranian militias

Intensive meetings conducted by the security authorities in order to control the state of chaos caused by the armed militias, and to contain the threat of the diplomatic missions.
This comes at a time when missiles continue to be fired at columns and equipment of the international coalition against ISIS in Iraq.
During the past hours, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi chaired a meeting of the Ministerial Council for National Security to discuss the security of diplomatic missions in the country.
The Ministerial Council for National Security affirmed that measures would be taken against the aggressive actions that targeted the vicinity of Erbil Airport.
The Ministerial Council for National Security also affirmed that the security forces are held accountable in the areas where any security breach occurs.
Mustafa Al-Kazemi indicated, during a meeting of the National Security Council, the need to strengthen measures to protect embassies and diplomatic missions.
Today, a convoy carrying equipment for the international coalition forces was subjected to a missile attack in the city of Diwaniyah, southern Iraq.
The Security Media Cell confirmed that the convoy belonging to Iraqi transport companies and led by Iraqi drivers was attacked by an unexploded guided missile in the Shomali area of Diwaniyah governorate. This caused material damage to one of the containers, without any casualties, indicating that the convoy continued its march towards its intended destination.
For its part, the US State Department said that the United States of America is committed to a long-term relationship with Iraq, indicating that the militias loyal to Iran destabilize Iraq.
