    On Friday, the Ministry of Commerce announced that the sites and branches of the General Company for Grain Trade will continue to supply foodstuff agents with local rice.

    The General Director of the General Company for Grain Trade, Abd al-Rahman Ajji Tufan, confirmed in a statement, which "people" received a copy, (April 2, 2021), that "the grain trade continues to supply agents with rice in Babil, Muthanna, Khan Bani Saad, Kasra, Atash and Dhi Qar, which strengthens its stocks of rice." , Adding that “the rice stores in the Babel branch continue to supply foodstuff agents with jasmine rice, as the quantity supplied today reached (213) tons, for the quota for the month of Ramadan, while the Diyala branch’s supply of rice for agents reached (70,977) tons, as for the branch Al-Muthanna, the quantity supplied for foodstuff agents of Jasmine rice, reached (934) tons, as well as the General Company for Grain Trading in Khan Bani Saad, supplying foodstuff agents with rice for the quota for the month of Ramadan, with an amount of (572) tons.  
    Tufan pointed out that, "Khan Bani Saad site received rice transferred from Silwa Najaf, a quantity of (90) tons, as the Najaf and Diwaniyah branch continues to transport rice to the Kisra and Aash stores in a quantity that reached today (463) tons and supplies food agents in Rusafa in a quantity that reached today ( 534) tons of Jasmine rice for the month of Ramadan.  
    In the same context, Tufan explained that "the staff of the Dhi Qar branch supplied the agents with rice in a quantity that today reached (65) tons, while the branch received rice transferred from Silwa Al-Diwaniyah, a quantity of (357) tons," indicating that the Babel branch received rice manufactured from mills.
