Today, Wednesday, the Parliamentary Labor Committee revealed new details regarding the increase in social welfare salaries, calling on the Ministry of Labor to develop a plan to include the largest possible number of needy families.

A member of the committee, Representative Star Al-Atabi, said in statements followed by Alsumaria News, that "according to what was approved in the 2021 budget, about 400 thousand families were covered with social care," indicating that "the percentage of the increase in the salaries of the families under care ranges from 25 to 100 thousand."

He added that "the increase in salaries depends on the number of family members," noting that "there are sums that have been allocated, and therefore it is the ministry's duty to set a clear plan for how to invest them and to develop the necessary plan to include the largest possible number of needy families."

Al-Atabi added, "The additional funds for social care in the budget are two trillion and 600 billion dinars, which were allocated to the new families," explaining that "the previously included family allowances, which amounted to one million and a thousand 360 families, are still in existence."
