On Tuesday (June 29, 2021), the representative of the State of Law coalition, Kataa Al-Rikabi, revealed that the Presidency of Parliament has taken measures against deputies who are absent from the parliament’s sessions, indicating that the measures included suspending the salary for a month .
Al-Rikabi said, in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency, followed by  IQ News , that "the meeting of the political blocs with the Presidency of Parliament is important after a long break," noting that "many issues were raised, the most important of which was urging MPs to attend parliament sessions, especially since there are some important laws that It should be discussed and approved in the coming period .”
He added that "important votes must pass the names of the judges of cassation, who have only three days left of their term," stressing that "the vote on them will be during today's session ."
He continued, "The ministers' interrogations were discussed, as well as ensuring that there are no provocative statements by parliament or ministers, and the integration between the legislative and executive authorities," explaining that "it was agreed to hold three to four sessions per week ."
Al-Rikabi confirmed that "the Presidency of Parliament has taken measures against the representatives who are absent from the sessions, including suspending the absent representative's salary for a month, in addition to cutting one million dinars from his salary ."
Today, Tuesday, the House of Representatives is scheduled to hold its session to discuss and vote on a number of important laws and issues, most notably the vote on members of the Federal Court of Cassation.
