[rtl]Baghdad / NINA / - Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Hamid Naim Al-Ghazi, signed today in Baghdad with the Director of the United Nations Population Fund Office in Iraq Rita Columbia, a memorandum of joint cooperation between the latter and the Iraqi Women Empowerment Department, on supporting the gender file.
The Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers stressed the importance of strengthening partnerships with United Nations agencies, in order to benefit from comparative international experiences, in accordance with the frameworks included in the memorandum of cooperation to support the Iraqi women's file in various sectors.
The memorandum is signed; To provide a framework for cooperation that contributes to facilitating and enhancing cooperation between the two parties in areas of mutual interest, including (the call to increase political will to support national legislation on gender equality, women’s empowerment, and the elimination of violence and other harmful practices), as well as support for amending the implementation of laws, policies and strategies that contribute In preventing violence and providing technical support and expertise to multi-sectoral coordinated mechanisms to prevent existing violence./End of 7[/rtl]
