The leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, called on Monday to expedite the formation of a national majority government.
Al-Sadr said, in a tweet on “Twitter”: “Praise be to God, who fulfilled his promise, helped his servant and dearest soldier, and defeated the parties alone.
He added, "I especially mention Brother Faiq Zeidan, the Federal Court, the Electoral Commission, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Jeanine Plasschaert, and all the partners, but thanks are due to the Iraqi people who have been patient and victorious, and thanks to the reference sponsor and advocate for this electoral carnival, which deserves our praise, thanks and celebration."
