revealed today, Monday, the Rapporteur of the House of Representatives, Baida Khader, that the number of candidates for the post of President of the Republic has risen to 60 after opening the door for submission for the second time, while confirming that no date has yet been set for holding the presidential election session.
House Rapporteur Baida Khader said, "24 applicants were received for the post of President of the Republic after opening the door for the initial nomination, and after it was reopened again for 3 days from Wednesday until last Friday, the number rose to 60 candidates."
She added, "The names of the new candidates submitted, and whether the New Democratic Party candidate, Reber Ahmed, is among them is a matter about which the Presidency of Parliament exclusively has information."
She stressed that "the process of scrutinizing the names of the candidates is carried out by the legality of Parliament, and then the special committee to examine the names of the candidates, and then it goes to the Integrity Commission and then the Supreme Judicial Council."
She pointed out that "the Presidency of the House of Representatives has not yet set a new date for the session to elect the President of the Republic." Ended 29 / h
