A member of the Victory Alliance, Aqeel Al-Rudaini, warned, on Saturday, of a real crisis that Iraq may face regarding the long-term contracts between the region, Turkey and Russia.
Al-Rudaini said in a statement to the “Information” agency, “It is not possible to sell oil in the name of a province or region to countries abroad without resorting to legal contexts, and the court’s decision came in its place,” noting that “the region made long-term contracts, which is a problem that requires the intervention of Parliament and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.” Oil seriously.
He added that "the problem of long-term contracts requires the intervention of Parliament and the competent authorities to reach understandings that will stop these contracts between the region, Russia and Turkey, because it will cause a real crisis in Iraq."
He pointed out that "the decision of the Federal Court regarding the region is a national decision and came in accordance with the law, because oil is the property of the Iraqi people and is not a monopoly of the region."
The former member of the Oil and Energy Committee, Representative Zahra Al-Bajari, had confirmed, earlier, that the caretaker prime minister could not disavow the implementation of the federal decision regarding Kurdistan oil, indicating that the region sold its oil for 15 years without Baghdad.
