    The North Oil Company of the Iraqi government announced, on Saturday, that an armed Kurdish force affiliated with the Kurdistan Regional Government took control of some oil wells in northern Kirkuk.

    The company added in a statement, that this force came with a technical team from the region, and imposed its control over some oil wells in the Bai Hassan field.

    On the other hand, the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq denied that accusation, considering that public wealth, according to the Iraqi constitution, belongs to all Iraqis and not the property of a company, as it put it.

    She also added, in a statement published on its official website, that the North Oil Company has been working for years under the oil and gas law, violating the constitution, and if it is keen to solve problems, it must legislate the oil and gas law on the basis of the constitution, she said.
    It considered that the words of the Iraqi government are an accusation against the region, which is far from the truth and aims only to create chaos.

    It is noteworthy that the Iraqi forces had regained control of the oil fields in Kirkuk from the grip of the Kurds in 2017, after a referendum on the independence of the Kurdish region.
